This hinge can withstand more than 300,000 rotations with no changes in structure or appearance.

Its history is that they have been around since the cold war era. The invention of Ovvo glasses came about by a group of scientists. They were developing a material for spacecrafts and military use. In the 1980’s they started using these composites to make glasses. Ovvo glasses are made from fused surgical steel and titanium. They achieved an exceptionally lightweight, durable and flexible eyewear system. They are also hypoallergenic. Each pair is manufactured in their family owned plant in Germany and Poland.

Ovvo eyewear company’s attention to detail is meticulous. With great precision and attention to detail all the frames are hand polished, painted and assembled by a crew of 250 dedicated eyewear production specialists. They are first laser cut out of raw steel sheets imported from Sweden. They pass thru the various stages of hand manufacturing. Each pair of Ovvo glasses are inspected with care for the highest quality assurance. The patented hinge is a work of art. There are no screws in the hinge piece. This equates to a very strong durable hinge that can last a lifetime. The end result is a flawless piece of art.
